This event is yearly staged in Milan, Italy and is attended by lots of motorcycle fanatics all over the world. Moreover, different motorcycle brands are being showcased during this prestigious event yet KTM’s 790 Adventure and 790 Adventure R stood out.

At the event, KTM has unraveled two of its newest named KTM 790 Adventure and KTM 790 Adventure R. As expected, people became astounded on the beauty of the two. Moreover, all the participants are even traveled from different places around the globe just to get to Italy and behold these bombshells.

In many countries in Asia, middleweight motorcycles including the 790 Adventure series are becoming famous. It is because these kind of bikes are easier to maneuver especially in traffic and relatively lighter than others. Along with that, these bikes are also better when it comes to fuel-efficiency than the full-size fellas of these bikes.

The Heart of KTM Bikes

Both of the 790 Adventure and the 790 Adventure R is packed with an engine which is a 799 cubic centimeter LC8 parallel-twin that is capable of generating torque of 83Nm and 93.7 horsepower. These cool bikes will surely attract many Filipino motorcycle riders who want to enjoy the road using a magnificent ride all day long. Furthermore, the 790 Adventure is said to be a gentler version of KTM’s 790 Duke street fighter currently available on the Philippine market. Yet, the latter is said to perform better with 86.2 Nm and 103 hp even though the same parallel-twin engine layout is used.

When it comes to the control board of the motorcycles, the LED split headlamps of these two is identical of the front end of the 790 Duke. However, it has a better ground clearance compared to the Duke. Also, the bikes claimed to run around 450km when it is a full tank so we can say that these bikes are a perfect partner for those who love to go in a long-distance ride. Like so, the 790 Adventure includes a split-seat. Meanwhile, the 790 Adventure R offers a comfortable slim and long single seat for the driver.

Start of Production

In EICMA 2018, these KTM 790 Adventure bikes are still just prototypes for the moment. However, bikers are eager to wait to finally make one their own and see it run with the Suzuki V-Strom 650, Yamaha Tracer 900, the Honda 500X, and the Kawasaki Versys 650 within the thrilling enduro motorbikes arena. Of course, we must never leave the Royal Enfield Himalayan in this talk for it is now catching on these bikes rapid phase.

A reliable source said that in early 2019, KTM Philippines will begin to produce big bikes in their plant located in Laguna. Yet, we are still skeptical if this includes the 790 Adventure series.
