Good news to all scooter fans: Suzuki has finally debuted the new Suzuki Skydrive Sport. Set to compete in the entry-level AT scooters category, the new Suzuki Skydrive Sport is not only groomed to be stylish, it also packs a lot of power with its 113 cc fuel injected engine. Its 4-stroke single cylinder air-cooled, fuel-injected SOHC engine can produce 9.1-PS at 8,000 rpm with 8.5-Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm and honestly, given that it comes in a more compact size than its predecessor the Skydrive 125, this feat is already impressive. The Skydrive 125cc has already established a good reputation in the Philippine motorcycle scene and it is clear that Suzuki is banking on this level of trust hence their unveiling of the Skydrive Sport.

A lot of you motorcycle connoisseurs might have noticed that the new Skydrive Sport can easily be compared to the Suzuki Address 115 given that the two have so much similarities specs-wise but we took a closer look and found out that the Skydrive Sport’s wheelbase is 15mm shorter than that of the Address 115’s and that it is 16 kg lighter than the outgoing model. Many were also quick to give the Skydrive Sport the moniker “Soulty” because of its resemblance to the Yamaha Mio Soul and the Yamaha Mio Sporty but this new player also brings in something fresh in the looks department. It boasts of a newly designed frame that ensures a flexible riding position and a long wheelbase for some straight-line stability. It also has a low seat height but a high ground clearance so you can have more sense of security when clearing bumps. The new sporty headlight and  tail light design was said to be inspired by the Suzuki GSX-R1000 and the GSX-R150, truly the perfect accent.

Obviously the entry-level AT scooters segment is not an empty lane and the competition is tough given that the Yamaha Mio Sporty and the Honda Beat have already earned their fair share of loyalists but it is apparent that the Skydrive Sport is still out to give the current competition a run for their money.

The all-new Suzuki Skydrive Sport comes in Black, Pink, and Matte Silver and it retails for just Php 67,900. Suzuki has partnered with Bench, one of the top clothing brands in the country, so if you want to see the new Suzuki Skydrive Sports up close and personal, it will be on display in select Bench stores.
